In anticipation of updating the Commonwealth’s website filminpa.com and online Production Guide, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development is reaching out to all the Pennsylvania industry professionals currently listed on our online Production Guide. We are working diligently to ensure that all crew and support service listings are up-to-date and accurately reflect commonwealth individuals and businesses active within the Pennsylvania film industry.

The Commonwealth is updating their online Production Guide to provide information regarding what constitutes a Small Diverse Business. A Small Diverse Business is defined as a minority-owned, woman-owned, veteran-owned, service-disabled veteran-owned, LGBT-owned, or disability-owned business that has 100 or fewer full-time employees worldwide and is verified by the Pennsylvania Department of General Services (DGS) as being certified by one of the following certifying entities.

*Note these are disadvantaged business certifications which are accepted for Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Woman Business Enterprise (WBE) only.

The Statement of Policy that governs the program uses the acronyms of SDB for small diverse business and MBE (minority business enterprise), WBE (woman business enterprise), VBE (veteran business enterprise), SDVBE (service-disabled veteran enterprise), LGBTBE (lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender business enterprise), and DOBE (Disability-Owned Business Enterprise).
